The Washington Area Development Economics Symposium (WADES) is a forum that brings together cutting edge development economics research from leading economic institutions in the Washington D.C. area.  Faculty and graduate students from local universities have the opportunity to present and discuss their recent research at an annual one-day conference. Researchers from George Mason University, Georgetown University, George Washington University, University of Maryland, University of Virginia and the World Bank are all participants in the symposium.

This year’s conference is hosted by the the Mercatus Center at George Mason University on Friday, May 5. The symposium will be  held on the Arlington Campus of George Mason, located at 3351 Fairfax Dr., Arlington, VA 22201.
